Dainese

Dainese is an Italian company that makes protective clothing and technological gear for dynamic activities including motorcycling, mountain biking, winter sports, and horseback riding. The firm was started in 1972 by Lino Dainese, who is now a minority shareholder, and has grown organically and via acquisitions, notably Italian helmet manufacturer AGV (2007). In 2014, Investcorp purchased a controlling stake in the Dainese Group. Since 2015, CEO Cristiano Silei has overseen the firm. 

Lino Dainese founded the firm in 1972, when he was 20 years old, in Molvena, Vicenza, Italy, creating protective motorcycle equipment. A pair of motocross pants was the first item of apparel. Since its inception, the firm has been intimately involved with motorcycle racing, which has influenced its product development, which is focused on safety, performance, and ergonomics.

In July 2007, the business purchased AGV, an Italian helmet maker.

Lino Dainese launched D Airlab, a research institute dedicated to bringing D-air technology to non-sports users such as construction workers and the elderly, after Dainese was acquired by Investcorp.

The Group's headquarters, as well as its Research & Development and Design Centers, are all located in Italy. They have a regional office in the United States and another in Hong Kong.

AGV helmets are used by the Dainese Group, whereas Dainese suits, jackets, shock-absorbing armor, back protectors, pants, boots, gloves, and accessories are used. Traditional cowhide, kangaroo leather, aramid, carbon fiber, and titanium are used to create these goods, which are available off-the-shelf, built-to-measure, or custom manufactured. Settantadue, a motorcycling fashion apparel brand, was added to Dainese in 2017.

Over the years, Dainese has expanded its product line to include mountain biking, skiing, and horseback riding, frequently incorporating innovations developed for motorcycle racing.
