Description
The factory transmission cooler on the 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke is a liquid-to-liquid design - transmission fluid is cooled by engine coolant, which means fluid temperatures can only ever get as low as the coolant they run against. Under the sustained load of towing and hauling in hot weather, that ceiling disappears fast, and heat is what wears a transmission out. The Mishimoto Heavy-Duty Transmission Cooler solves the problem at its source: an included bypass component eliminates the factory liquid-to-liquid cooler entirely and routes fluid to a dedicated air-cooled core.----Freed from the engine coolant circuit, transmission fluid is now cooled directly by the airstream through a robust tube-and-fin aluminum core built to withstand sustained towing heat and constant thermal cycling. Turbulated internal fins keep fluid moving across more cooling surface for consistent temperatures pull after pull - a real advantage in hot climates and under heavy load. The kit includes application-specific fluid hard lines that route to the new cooler for a secure, leak-free connection, making for a clean, complete upgrade with no custom plumbing.----Direct fit for the 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke, installed with the included application-specific hard lines.
