Red Line 20WT RACE OIL (5W20)
Red Line 20WT (5W20) Synthetic Race Oil | High Zinc - 2to4wheels
Maximize race engine power and protection with Red Line 20WT (5W20) Synthetic Race Oil. Low drag, high film strength, 2250 PPM Zinc. Ideal for Spec Miata, Karting, and Drag Racing.
Unleash hidden horsepower and ensure serious protection for your competition engine with Red Line 20WT (5W20) Race Oil. As part of Red Line's acclaimed lineup, this oil is born in the lab and proven on the track, utilizing the most thermally stable synthetic polyol ester base stocks available.
While labeled as a "20WT" straight-grade, this oil performs as an exceptional SAE 5W20 multi-grade, offering a competitive advantage by providing 2-4% more power than oils of similar viscosity due to its superior frictional properties and low drag.
The formula is heavily fortified with anti-wear additives, featuring no less than 2200 PPM of Zinc and Phosphorus (ZDDP), ensuring the highest film strength and wear protection available—far exceeding that of standard petroleum or synthetic street oils. Special detergents are included for improved lubricity and reduced detonation risk.
Red Line's polyol ester base stocks provide unmatched stability and film strength, particularly when exposed to common racing issues like excess fuel dilution, heat, and shear. This results in improved protection at startup, lower operating oil temperatures, and exceptional cleanliness.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Red Line Race Oils contain fewer detergents than motor oils for passenger vehicles and are NOT suitable for continuous street or highway use in vehicles equipped with catalytic converters. Change these oils more frequently than regular motor oils.
Best Uses:
-
Spec Miata and Low-Power Road Race Engines: Used by top engine builders for better wear and consistent performance.
-
4-Cycle Karting Engines: A favored oil for Yamaha/Burris F200, Briggs Animal, Honda GX series, and Clones.
-
Drag Racing: Consistent wear and operation in classes like Stock and Super Stock (often used for qualifying).
-
Circle Track Qualifying: Popular for applications requiring low-viscosity, high-protection oils.
-
High-Performance Engines: Any race application designed for a low-viscosity, high-zinc formula.
5 Features:
-
High-Grade Polyol Ester Base Stocks: Provides unmatched thermal stability, film strength, and protection against fuel dilution.
-
High-Zinc/Phosphorus Content (approx. 2250/2000 PPM): Extremely high ZDDP levels for superior anti-wear protection on valvetrain components.
-
Low Drag Formula: Reformulated for improved frictional properties, resulting in 2-4% more power than similar viscosity oils.
-
Exceptional Multi-Grade Performance (5W20): Offers improved cold-start protection despite its "20WT" straight-grade categorization.
-
Special Detergents: Designed to improve lubricity and actively help reduce engine detonation.
5 Benefits:
-
Maximum Power Output: Reduced internal drag and friction help liberate measurable horsepower gains.
-
Best Wear Protection: Unmatched film strength and high ZDDP protect critical engine components under extreme stress.
-
Increased Thermal Stability: Resists breakdown and maintains film strength at the highest engine temperatures.
-
Lower Operating Temperatures: Superior synthetic formulation contributes to a reduction in oil running temperature.
-
Cleanliness and Detonation Control: Special detergents keep the engine cleaner and mitigate detonation risk.
20WT RACE OIL (5W20)
A favorite of 4-Cycle karters, low drag and serious protection.
Racing oils provide more wear protection than motor oils for passenger vehicles, however, these products contain fewer detergents and are not suitable for street use
- Reformulated for improved frictional properties
- Special detergents for improved lubricity and less detonation
- Polyol ester base stocks provide more stability and film strength when exposed to excess fuel dilution
- Each of these products has no less than 2200ppm of zinc and phosphorus for antiwear
- Each race oil product is a multi-grade, offering 2-4% more power than oil of a similar viscosity - 20WT is a 5W20, 30WT is a 10W30, 40WT is a 15W40, 50WT is a 15W50
- Improved protection at startup, lower oil temp, cleanliness
- Remember to change these oils more frequently than regular motor oils
