Red Line 70WT Nitro Drag Race Oil - Top Fuel & Funny Car Formula
The ultimate 70WT synthetic oil for nitromethane engines. Used by NHRA Champions for maximum protection against piston scuffing, valvetrain, and bearing abuse, even with extreme fuel dilution.
Red Line 70WT Nitro Drag Race Oil is specifically engineered for the extreme operating conditions of nitromethane-fueled engines, as proven by its utilization by NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car champions.
This purpose-built, reformulated synthetic oil features polyol ester base stocks, which provide exceptional thermal stability and film strength, dramatically improving performance and protection when exposed to extreme fuel dilution common in nitro applications. Special detergents are incorporated to improve lubricity and actively reduce the risk of detonation.
The formula delivers ultimate protection against the most common failures in high-horsepower engines, including piston scuffing, valvetrain damage, and bearing abuse. It boasts an extreme anti-wear package containing over 3100 PPM of Phosphorus and 2400 PPM of Zinc, far exceeding the minimum requirements for heavy-duty racing. Though a heavy 70WT oil, its multi-grade design offers superior flow at startup and has been shown to deliver an increase of 2-4% more power than oil of a similar viscosity.
Best Uses:
-
Professional Drag Racing: Essential for NHRA Top Fuel, Funny Car, and other high-horsepower nitromethane engines.
-
Extremely High-Horsepower Engines: Ideal for blown or turbocharged engines facing severe loading and temperature demands.
-
Alcohol & Exotic Fuel Applications: Formulated to maintain film strength and integrity even with significant fuel contamination/dilution.
-
Ultimate Engine Protection: For racers seeking maximum defense against piston scuffing, valvetrain failure, and bearing wear under extreme pressure.
5 Features:
-
Extreme Anti-Wear Package (Zinc/Phos): Contains 3100 PPM Phosphorus and 2400 PPM Zinc for unrivaled protection of valvetrain and bearings.
-
Polyol Ester Base Stocks: Provides maximum stability and film strength, specifically designed to withstand dramatic fuel dilution from nitromethane.
-
Reformulated Frictional Properties: Enhances lubricity and contributes to less detonation under high-stress running conditions.
-
Multi-Grade Power Output: Offers the protection of a 70WT, but provides 2-4% more power than conventional oils of a similar viscosity.
-
Ultimate High-Temperature Protection: Maintains lower oil temperatures and superior film integrity in engines producing up to 11,000+ horsepower.
5 Benefits:
-
Championship-Proven Performance: Trusted and utilized by NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car champions, guaranteeing elite-level performance.
-
Superior Fuel Dilution Resistance: Maintains effective lubrication even when base stock is compromised by excess nitromethane fuel.
-
Maximum Component Life: Provides ultimate protection against piston scuffing and extreme valvetrain/bearing abuse.
-
Improved Engine Cleanliness: Special detergents keep engine internals cleaner, preventing deposit buildup.
-
Enhanced Startup Protection: Multi-grade viscosity ensures improved protection at startup compared to straight-weight oils.
70WT NITRO DRAG RACE OIL
Why so thick? That blower is yanking on the crank!
Racing oils provide more wear protection than motor oils for passenger vehicles, however, these products contain fewer detergents and are not suitable for street use
- Reformulated for improved frictional properties
- Special detergents for improved lubricity and less detonation
- Polyol ester base stocks provide more stability and film strength when exposed to excess fuel dilution
- Each of these products has no less than 2200ppm of zinc and phosphorus for antiwear
- Each race oil product is a multi-grade, offering 2-4% more power than oil of a similar viscosity - 20WT is a 5W20, 30WT is a 10W30, 40WT is a 15W40, 50WT is a 15W50
- Improved protection at startup, lower oil temp, cleanliness
- Remember to change these oils more frequently than regular motor oils
