At its core, the R16 boasts a 100% waterproof roll-top main compartment, featuring a removable, easy-to-clean, taped-seam white liner. This ensures that your belongings remain completely dry, even in heavy rain. An internal zip pocket within the main compartment provides additional secure, dry storage for smaller items like wallets or keys.
The R16 incorporates Kriega's acclaimed Quadloc-Lite™ harness system. This innovative harness is engineered to transfer weight away from your shoulders to your chest and body, significantly reducing fatigue and discomfort during extended rides. Its angled design allows for complete freedom of arm movement, and the quick-release buckle simplifies putting on and taking off the pack without needing to re-adjust the harness each time.
Constructed from robust 420D Cordura® Lite for the main body, 420D Nylon Ripstop for the side panels, and reinforced with super-tough Hypalon details, the R16 is built to withstand the rigors of motorcycling and the elements. An Air-mesh back panel enhances rider comfort by promoting airflow and preventing sweat build-up. Reflective panels on the harness and a reflective rear logo increase your visibility in low-light conditions. The backpack is also hydration reservoir compatible and features hook-on points for additional Kriega US-Drypacks (US-5 or US-10), allowing for expandable storage when required.
