Description

K&N E-2872 Replacement Air Filter | Mercedes-Benz V8 (1976-1993)

Boost your classic Mercedes-Benz V8 performance with the K&N E-2872 air filter. Washable, reusable, and designed for superior airflow and protection.

The K&N E-2872 is a high-performance, drop-in replacement air filter designed for Mercedes-Benz V8 engines with fuel injection. Unlike standard paper filters that can restrict air as they get dirty, K&N's layered cotton media allows for high volumes of air to reach the engine while maintaining a filtration efficiency of 97-99%. This design is intended to improve throttle response and horsepower. Because it is washable and reusable, it is likely the last air filter you will ever need to buy for your vehicle.

Best Uses

  1. Performance Upgrades: For owners looking to unlock more power and better fuel efficiency from classic 380, 420, 500, or 560 V8 engines.
  2. Restoration Projects: An ideal choice for period-correct restorations where maintaining the original airbox is desired while improving reliability.
  3. Long-Term Maintenance: Perfect for high-mileage drivers who want to eliminate the recurring cost of paper filters.

Features

  1. High-Flow Cotton Media: Layered, oiled cotton fibers capture dirt while allowing maximum air passage.
  2. Drop-In Design: Precision-engineered to fit directly into your Mercedes-Benz factory air box with no modifications required.
  3. Washable & Reusable: Can be cleaned and re-oiled using a K&N Recharger Kit, making it a "lifetime" filter.
  4. Durable Construction: Features a sturdy urethane frame and epoxy-coated mesh to prevent collapse under high vacuum.
  5. Pre-Oiled: Comes ready to install right out of the box for immediate performance benefits.

Benefits

  1. Increased Horsepower: Reduces air intake restriction to help the engine produce more power.
  2. Improved Acceleration: Enhances throttle response, providing a more spirited driving experience in classic V8 models.
  3. Cost Savings: Eliminates the need to buy and replace air filters every 10,000–15,000 miles.
  4. Engine Protection: Advanced filtration technology ensures that harmful contaminants are trapped before reaching the cylinders.
  5. Eco-Friendly: Reduces landfill waste by replacing dozens of disposable filters over the car's lifetime.
