Description

K&N Universal X Stream Clamp-On Air Filter 3" Flange

Boost airflow and horsepower with the K&N Universal X-Stream Clamp-On Air Filter (Part #RX-4990). Features a 3" flange, washable design, and integrated top filter area.

The K&N Universal X-Stream Clamp-On Air Filter (Part Number: RX-4990) takes intake performance to the next level. Designed with an integrated filter right in the top cap, this cone filter maximizes surface area to deliver maximum airflow to your engine.

Constructed from multiple layers of oiled cotton gauze, it captures dirt and debris while allowing maximum air volume through. The base features an ultra-strong, molded pliable rubber flange that absorbs engine vibration and stretches up to 1/16 inch for precise fitment on 3-inch intake tubing. It comes pre-oiled and ready to clamp directly onto custom or aftermarket intakes.

Best Uses

  1. Custom Cold Air Intakes: Ideal for custom DIY air intake setups that require a high-flow 3-inch inlet filter.
  2. Performance & Racing Vehicles: Built for track, strip, or off-road setups that need maximum clean airflow under heavy load.
  3. Engine Swaps & Custom Fabrication: Perfect for engine bays with non-standard filter clearance or unique intake piping sizes.

Features

  1. X-Stream Top Design: Features a functional filter media top rather than a solid cap, significantly increasing overall filtration surface area.
  2. Cotton Gauze Media: Constructed with multiple layers of oiled cotton gauze for high airflow and thorough dirt filtration.
  3. Pliable Rubber Flange: Flexible, vibration-absorbing molded rubber base that can stretch up to 1/16 inch to ensure a snug seal on 3" pipes.
  4. Washable & Reusable: Designed to be cleaned and re-oiled for thousands of miles, eliminating the need for disposable paper filters.
  5. Pre-Oiled from Factory: Comes pre-oiled and ready to install right out of the box.

Benefits

  1. Increases Horsepower & Acceleration: High-flow media minimizes intake restriction, helping your engine breathe easier for better output.
  2. Extended Service Intervals: The increased surface area provided by the X-Stream top cap extends the time required between cleanings.
  3. Cost-Effective Long Term: Being washable and reusable saves money on recurring air filter replacements over the life of your vehicle.
  4. Secure, Leak-Free Fit: The flexible rubber flange dampens engine motion and clamps tightly to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the media.
  5. Engine Protection: Protects internal engine components from harmful dust and debris while maximizing performance.
