Description

K&N Universal Round Tapered Air Filter | 3.5" Flange, 6" Height (RF-1031)

Boost performance with the K&N Round Tapered Air Filter (3.5" Flange, 5.75" Base, 6" Height). High-flow, washable, reusable cotton gauze media.

The K&N Round Tapered Universal Air Filter (SKU: RF-1031) is engineered to upgrade your engine's breathing capacity across custom, racing, and aftermarket intake setups. Designed with a 3.5-inch inner flange diameter, a 5.75-inch base, a 3.75-inch top, and a 6-inch overall height, this conical clamp-on filter fits tightly in compact engine bays without restricting intake velocity.

Constructed with premium multi-layer oiled cotton gauze encased in a durable aluminum wire mesh, this filter allows maximum airflow while maintaining strict filtration standards. Its ultra-strong, molded pliable rubber flange effectively absorbs engine vibration and can stretch up to 1/16 of an inch (1.5mm) to accommodate minor piping variations. Pre-oiled straight from the factory, this washable and reusable filter provides a lifetime of dependable performance, eliminating the need for frequent disposable paper filter replacements.

Best Uses

  1. Custom Cold Air Intakes: Fits custom-built or aftermarket intake pipes with a 3.5-inch outer diameter.
  2. Performance & Racing Applications: Ideal for track, drag, or off-road vehicles requiring maximum volumetric efficiency and high airflow.
  3. Engine Swaps & Tight Bays: The tapered profile allows high surface area filtration while fitting into tight spaces.
  4. Power Equipment & Specialty Vehicles: Works seamlessly on custom tractors, generators, snowmobiles, and recreational utility vehicles.

Features

  1. High-Flow Oiled Cotton Media: 4 layers of woven cotton gauze treated with a specialized tacking agent to capture contaminants while maximizing airflow.
  2. Pliable Vibration-Absorbing Flange: Molded rubber construction dampens engine movement and stretches up to 1/16" (1.5mm) for a precise seal.
  3. Space-Saving Tapered Design: Features a 5.75" base tapering to a 3.75" top over a 6" height to maximize surface area in tight engine compartments.
  4. Direct Clamp-On Fitment: Comes pre-oiled and ready to install directly onto standard 3.5" OD intake piping with no extra adaptors required.
  5. Washable & Reusable Construction: Built to be serviced with a K&N Recharger kit, restoring like-new performance again and again.

Benefits

  1. Increased Horsepower & Throttle Response: Reduced airflow restriction translates to immediate improvements in engine power output and acceleration.
  2. Long-Term Cost Savings: Eliminates the need for continuous replacement paper filters over the lifespan of your vehicle.
  3. Engine Protection: Efficiently captures harmful dust, dirt, and debris to safeguard internal engine components under harsh conditions.
  4. Eco-Friendly Choice: Reusable design keeps disposable paper filters out of landfills.
  5. Hassle-Free Maintenance: Long service intervals mean you only clean the filter when dirt buildup warrants it (up to 75,000 miles under normal highway conditions).
