Description

K&N Universal Clamp-On Air Filter Red | 4" Flange, 5.5" Height (RG-1001RD)

Boost horsepower and airflow with the K&N Universal Air Filter (RG-1001RD). Features a 4" rubber flange, red oiled cotton media, and a polished chrome top.

Upgrade your intake system with the K&N Universal Air Filter (RG-1001RD), engineered to deliver high-flow performance and maximum engine protection. Designed for custom builds, racing vehicles, and modified intake setups, this round tapered filter features a 4-inch inside diameter flange and stands 5.5 inches tall. It is constructed with premium multi-layer oiled cotton gauze media in vibrant red, topped off with a brilliant polished chrome cap for a sleek, high-end engine bay appearance.

Unlike restrictive disposable paper filters, K&N’s signature cotton filter design drastically reduces air restriction, allowing your engine to pull in a higher volume of clean air. The heavy-duty, pliable rubber flange absorbs engine vibration for secure clamp-on mounting and can stretch up to 1/16th of an inch (1.5mm) to accommodate slight fitting variations. Pre-oiled from the factory and completely washable and reusable, this universal air filter provides a lifetime of dependable service.

Best Uses

  1. Custom Air Intake Systems: Perfect for custom cold air intakes or short ram intakes requiring a 4-inch clamp-on filter connection.
  2. Performance & Racing Vehicles: Ideal for race cars, track builds, and high-RPM applications where maximum airflow and throttle response are essential.
  3. Engine Swaps & Custom Builds: Suitable for hot rods, street machines, and custom vehicle builds with non-standard airbox dimensions.
  4. Off-Road & Powersports: High-efficiency filtration for snowmobiles, ATVs, tractors, and utility equipment requiring reliable dust protection.
  5. Industrial & Specialty Equipment: Excellent clamp-on air filter solution for generators and stationary power setups.

Features

  1. High-Flow Cotton Gauze Media: Multi-layer oiled cotton material engineered to increase airflow while trapping fine dust and debris.
  2. Flexible Pliable Rubber Flange: Ultra-strong molded rubber absorbs engine vibration and stretches up to 1/16 in. (1.5mm) to fit intermediate pipe sizes securely.
  3. Chrome Top Plate & Red Finish: Chrome-plated metal cap paired with red filter media delivers a show-quality look under the hood.
  4. Universal Clamp-On Design: Features a 4 in. (102mm) flange ID, 1.125 in. flange length, and 5.5 in. overall filter height for versatile fitment.
  5. Washable & Reusable: Designed to be cleaned and re-oiled for long-term use, eliminating the need for frequent replacements.

Benefits

  1. Increased Horsepower & Acceleration: Reduces air restriction to pull more oxygen into the engine, improving overall power output and throttle response.
  2. Superior Filtration Efficiency: Traps up to 99% of harmful contaminants to safeguard internal engine components.
  3. Cost-Effective & Eco-Friendly: Reusable design saves money over time and prevents disposable air filters from filling up landfills.
  4. Quick & Simple Installation: Pre-oiled and ready to clamp directly onto your intake tubing using basic tools.
  5. Durable, Long-Lasting Build: Constructed with premium materials built to withstand harsh under-hood temperatures and high-vibration environments.
